Slow Wine: Celebrating the Italian tradition of sipping, savoring, and enjoying quality food and wine

The 2026 New York City edition of Slow Wine, a celebration of the Italian approach to wine and gastronomy—sipping, savoring, and enjoying one’s wine and repast—was held on March 9th. at the Italian marketplace in Eataly Downtown.

A well-prepared buffet of pastas, salumi, cheeses, and assorted Sicilian pizza were ideal accompaniments to the fine collection of both Italian and international wines featured at the event.

Slow Wine, organized by leading New York City-based food and beverage marketing firm Colangelo & Partners, and sponsored by Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, Consorzio Vini Asolo Montello, Pastificio di Martino, La Banca Del Vino, The Charming Taste of Europe, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, also conducted informative masterclasses focused on Prosecco from the Asolo DOCG, and quality wines from the central Italian region of Abruzzo.

Some of the wineries in attendance included:

Tenuta La Viola from Emilia Romagna

Barone Pizzini and Pasini San Giovanni from Lombardy

Colli della Murgia from Puglia

Rubinelli Vajol from Veneto

Sergio Mottura from Civitella d’Agliano

G.D. Vajra from Piedmont

The event reinforced the importance of honoring the producers, farmers, and growers that cultivate the food and wine we enjoy, and appreciating the integral roles wine and gastronomy play in bringing us closer to family and friends through the tradition of eating and drinking.
