Celebrating Chilean wine and pisco at Loft 7 in New York City

On October 20, 2025, wine media, trade, novice, and afficionado alike came together to celebrate Chilean wine and gastronomy at the Chile Wine Fest in New York City. The festive affair, organized by Wines of Chile and ProChile, and taking place at Loft 7 overlooking the New York City skyline in NoHo, featured a combined 150+ wines and spirits from more than 30 wine and pisco producers, showcasing the breadth of this prominent Central American wine and pisco-producing region. Lively music from a Chilean band contributed to the energetic mood during an afternoon of cultural enrichment through imbibing and tasting.

Cocktails made with pisco showcased the versatility of this grape-based Chilean spirit that can be sipped and savored neat or with ice, and as the alcohol base for pisco sour, lychee martini, Manhattan, and Old Fashioned, to name a few.

Attendees were encouraged to pair the various libations with samplings of ArkA Antarctic salmon served sashimi style, Kenoz Patagonian caviar, charcuterie, and fresh fruit sourced from Chile. There was also plenty of sparkling and still Andes Mountain Water on hand to keep attendees hydrated.

Chile is a land of breathtaking natural beauty and almost unimaginable climactic and topographical extremes, making winemaking challenging, but also rewarding.. Workshops focused on Chile’s unique landscape and terroir, and the art of crafting pisco informed attendees about this extraordinary country’s history of fine wine and pisco making. Chile’s wine regions stretch from the mountainous Patagonia and coastal Leyda Valley, to the fertile Huasco Valley in the southern part of the otherwise nearly bone-dry Atacama Desert.
This varied terroir allows the Chilean landscape to yield many different types of grapes that the region’s talented winemakers then interpret to create wines that are emblematic of the varietals, vineyards, and unique terroir from which they were produced. Some notable traditional and ancestral method sparkling, crisp and refreshing white, unique and complex orange, and elegant and balanced red wines from a number of Chile’s finest producers included:

Miguel Torres NV Estelado Pais Brut Rosé NV

Miguel Torres Cordillera de Los Andes Chardonnay, 2023

Miguel Torres La Causa Cinsault, 2023

Terra Noble Ca1 Carmenere Andes

Terra Noble CA2 Carmenere Costa

Maturana Trohe Sauvignon Blanc

Maturana Parellon Semillon

Maturana Naranja Torontel

Maturana Panchita San Francisco

Ruta 5 Sauvignon Blanc

Hacienda Araucano L’Atelier Pet-Nat

Hacienda Araucano L’ Atelier Humo Blanco Naranjo

After the event, attendees like myself left with a strong desire to experience this historically and culturally-rich country ourselves.
